 Traditional Hand Weaving at Tohpati Village
Tohpati Village is just about 12 kilometers from Kuta, and famous for Bali's Batik Wand Weaving Center. Batik is a traditional form of painting fabric. They painstakingly use dots and lines from wax to decorate the cloth. It is very impressive to watch. It would be impossible to visit or live in Indonesia and not be exposed to one of the country's most highly developed art forms, batik. On your first visit to a batik home industry, you will undoubtedly experience an overwhelming stimulation of the senses - due to the many colors, patterns and the actual smell of batik. Only through repeated visits and a bit of study will the types of designs and their origins become apparent. |
 Kerta Gosa
Kerta Gosha (Ancient Hall of Justice) is located in the center of Klungkung town, about 47 kms from Denpasar, or 62 kms from Kuta, and 76 kms from Nusa Dua area. Built in 1710 by Dewa Agung the King of Klungkung. Klungkung was one the capital city of Balinese kingdom after 1550 following the retirement of Balinese famous king Dalem Waturenggong. The ceiling of the hall completely covered inside with fine painting Kamasan Style. The story of painting is The Epic of life Balinese Journey of the soul. In the midle built Bale Kambang (Floating Hall), the ceiling full with Kamasan Painting. |
 Besakih Temple
Besakih Temple is a largest Hindhu temple complex, located in slope of Mount Agung about 1000 meters above sea level. This is the first temple built in Bali or well known with Mother Temple built by the Javanese priest Sri Danghyang Dwijendra who traveled to Bali in 8th century. Besakih Temple has big complex of temple included the family temple who add by another Javanese priest Danghyang Nirartha in 16th century. The main temple courtyard is Penataran Agung has a triple throne called Padmasana Tiga with separate seats of the trinity gods Brahma, Wisnu and Siwa. |
 Goa Lawah (Bat Cave) Temple
The Goa Lawah temple located in Pesingahan Village, Klungkung regency. The temple built in 11th century by priest Mpu Kuturan, this priest who created 4 concepts of temple in Bali. This is one important temple located near the ocean, specially use for Nyegara Gunung ceremony (Nyegara it's mean Ocean and Gunung it's mean Mountain). The Hindhu Balinese people use Goa Lawah Temple for the ocean temple and Besakih Temple for the mountain temple. The cave in the cliff fully with thousand of the bats. |
 Kusamba Bay
Kusamba (Salt Making Village), is located about 2 kilometers west side of Bats Cave Temple. The village well known with salt making and fishing village, there are a lot of Jukung (Balinese small boat). |
 Kecak & Fire Dance
Kecak and Fire Dance is very famous, might be compulsory for tourist to see this Bali art performance. There is no accompanying orchestra on this dance. Instead, a large group of men provide a continuous vocal background, something like a sound picture of an ocean in all its moods. They are dressed only in black and white check sarong, with red flower behind the right ear. They form rows of circles, in the middle of which is a coconut oil lamp. The Kecak dance is performed for dance-dramas and the story presented is take from the Ramayana epic. |
